Slobber Time
ExerSaucer Time
This week I introduced the ExerSaucer to Braxton! He has found one toy that he absolutely loves! He'll sit there for what seems hours, but in baby world is only minutes, and roll the toy over and over. As the week has gone on he has become more aware of some of the other toys on the ExerSaucer and is even turning 360 degrees in his seat to check out these other neat toys. Thank Angie for letting us borrow your ExerSaucer! I know that Braxton will enjoy the many hours of fun that this will provide!

Cereal time
Highchair, check! Spoon, check! Bowl, check! Cereal, check! Bib, check! Braxton, check! If you couldn't tell already, last night we started Braxton on rice cereal. Little man didn't do too bad either. The first few bites he didn't really know what to do and just let the cereal go in his mouth, and then come right back out onto his bib. We could tell that he was trying to figure out exactly what to do with this new substance in his mouth. The next few spoons, Braxton actually kept the cereal in his mouth and seemed to enjoy it! Granted by the time we were done feeding, Braxton had a bib covered in cereal, a face covered in cereal, and mom's leg covered in cereal. Let's just say that Braxton got a little excited when eating and kicked his cereal bowl right out of mom's hands. :-)

Update on Johnny Jumper
Let me say, best hand me down gift EVER!!! Today was Day 2 in the Johnny Jumper and little man absolutely LOVES it. I put him in his jumper so I could fold a load of laundry and he was as content as ever. He just hung out looking everywhere and his favorite thing is slobbering all down the front of it. When I was done with laundry, not only was I able to put everything up, but then I started onto task #2, cleaning out and organizing Braxton's three drawers! Not only did he let me do this while in the jumper, he also let me dust his room and clean up his bookshelf, alphabetizing all of his books. Okay, okay, alphabetizing his books really??? I know, I know, but I have issues. It's just an organizational thing I have! So yes, best hand me down gift EVER! I recommend it to every parent out there. Thanks sis for passing this on to me. I'd be lost without it and we're only on Day 2!
Johnny Jumper
Yesterday I decided to pull out the Johnny Jumper to see what Braxton thought of it. When I first put him in it, he just held onto the front and stared at me. He didn't know what to think of this new toy. He sat in it for a long time and even found that the front of it can be quite the teething ring. Notice the slobber on the front of the Johnny Jumper! :-) Way to be resourceful son! He soon got the hang of it and became very active, turning every which way!
Kicking Feet
Braxton has discovered his feet during the past couple of days! The other night Braxton and I we're winding down before bath time on the couch, when he discovered his feet. So much for the winding down time! Little man began kicking away and there was no end in site. Enjoy the video!

Bubbles!
Today Braxton had another playdate with Olivia. During Braxton's playdate he experienced bubbles for the first time. At first he wasn't sure what to think about them. He just watched and watched as they fell from above him onto his face. It was so fun to watch his expressions as they popped on his face! He was definitely amused by them. Thanks for the idea of bringing bubbles into playtime Breanna. I can already see the loads of fun we're going to have with them.

Rolling Over
It's official! Braxton has finally rolled over from tummy to back! Today during his playdate with Miss Olivia he rolled over not once, but twice! While Olivia was being fed, I put Braxton down on his tummy. He must have been trying to impress Miss Olivia because in nothing flat he flopped over onto his back. I grabbed my camera and snapped a few pictures of him in his finished position from rolling over! As you can tell, Miss Olivia loves the color pink! Not only is Braxton on Olivia's pink blanket, but he also grabbed her pink toy as well. Either the little guy was showing off for Olivia or he is seriously stimualted by this new color called pink! Great job Braxton! Now I need to capture it on video!

Happy 4th of July!
3-months old
Braxton has reached the 3-month old milestone! He now weighs 15.5 lbs and measures 25 inches long, at least by my measurements. There was no official check-up this month. That will come again next month when he gets his 4-month shots. He hasn't rolled over yet, but he is very close! He has mastered smiling, laughing, grabbing (especially mom's hair), playing peak-a-boo, moving all over his blanket, and sleeping a solid 9 hours through the night. He also has developed very good hand-eye coordination during playtime. He loves to swing and hit his toys that dangle down from his playmat and bouncer. It's amazing at how fast he is growing. We thank God each day for such a healthy son! We truly are blessed!
Blanket Time
I was working on my college class yesterday while Braxton was down on his blanket. He must have been wanting to get mom's attention because he started playing peak-a-boo with his blanket and making all kinds of noise. It was too cute! Of course, it got me to stop working on my class and to come and play with him down on the ground! Enjoy!

Tummy Time
Mom and dad have been giving Braxton lots and lots of tummy time. Braxton doesn't mind it and sure is enjoying it. He is so close to rolling over from his belly to back. Braxton will get up on his knees and arms, but just isn't quite there. Very soon though! Stay posted for a video soon when he masters this developmental skill! We have a feeling it won't be long!
Peak-a-boo and Talking
Mr. Braxton is starting to find his voice! He recently has started babbling and babbling on and on! It's so great to see him try and carry on a conversation with us! Mom and dad also enjoy trying to get Braxton to squeal! It's just too cute! Mom and dad also like to play peak-a-book with Braxton! We've learned that peak-a-boo can be played when getting dressed, while driving in a car, after bathtime, during playtime, and many more places. The places are endless! Braxton loves this new game. He has recently been trying to get the blanket off of his face all on his own. We are enjoying watching Braxton learn and take all of these new things in!
Mommy and Daddy Day Date
Mom and dad went out on their first date alone since having Braxton on Sunday. Dad talked to Marci and Darren, friends and neighbor of ours, to see if they would babysit little man and they said yes. Mom and dad went and saw the new Transformers movie and enjoyed their time out together. Little man stayed at our neighbors house. He played, ate, and napped with Marci and then started the cycle all over again! When mom and dad got home, little man was as happy as could be. He had just finished another bottle (our son LOVES to eat) and was cuddled up in Marci's arms. Mom and dad sure did miss Braxton, but know that he was well taken care of! Thank you Marci and Darren! We are so thankful for your friendship!

Grammy and Papaw's House
Who doesn't love the sound of fireworks in the Williams' family? After all selling fireworks has been a family tradition for ever and ever! The answer to that is a 2 1/2 month old named Braxton. Dave's family owns and operates two fireworks stands during the July 4th week. While mom and Braxton were out and about during this trip, dad was kept busy selling fireworks at the two stands that the family runs. During night time, Braxton sure didn't like the fireworks that kept waking him up! He'd just get to sleep when BOOM a loud firework would wake him up. He wasn't too happy about it and neither was mom. But once he finally got into his deep sleep, he was able to sleep peacefully. Only one more night of the loud sounds until next year. Hopefully next year when Braxton is a little older he'll enjoy all of the sights and sounds. Right now, he prefers his little star on his playmat that plays music and has lights. So much better than the loud fireworks. While here Braxton also enjoyed hanging out with Grammy, Papaw, uncle Daniel, and soon-to-be Aunt Haley!
Nana and Papa's House
During our 10-day trip to Western Kansas, Braxton had the opportunity to spend some quality time at his Nana and Papa's house! He sure did have fun! Braxton also got to hang out with his Aunt Delena and two cousins, Eddie and Alisha. Braxton enjoyed the time that he got to spend at Nana and Papa's. He even found out that Aunt Delena sure can be silly! Braxton was all about his binkie one morning. When it would fall out, he'd fuss until it was put back in. So his Aunt Delena didn't want him to feel alone with his binkie in, so she joined in on the fun! Braxton sure thought it was neat! Braxton's cousin Alisha also decided to stay with us for a week and help with Braxton and to sell fireworks. She sure was a great help and Braxton enjoyed getting to know his cousin better! Alisha sure has the touch with Braxton! Anytime he'd be fussy and ready for his nap all you would have to do was put Braxton in Alisha's arms and he was out! Braxton can't wait until his next visit back to Nana and Papa's house! Hopefully by then he'll be rolling over and trying to crawl! Until the next visit!

Zoo Visit
Braxton had his first visit to the zoo while back in Western Kansas with his cousin Alisha, Nana, and me! This adventure to the zoo proved priceless when Braxton and I stopped to take a picture by some swans. As we were walking along a shaded path, my mom said, "Look at the swans!" As I turned to look, I saw that there were two swans just hanging out by the fence. Braxton and I geared up for my mom to take a photo. Snap. Picture taken! Next thing I knew my mom was saying, "I think you're getting pretty close to the swans." As I turned to see what she was talking about, the swan reached over the fence and bit me. Amazing enough, my mom captured this biting with my camera. You can tell by the expression on my face that this was not the best feeling in the world. Isn't the picture priceless? I've already had several people say that we need to get this picture entered into a fair, so I'm going to look into that. Who knew my mom would turn out to be an action photographer! Great shot mom! This zoo adventure will not soon be forgotten and will provide many, many laughs down the road. I can't wait to tell Braxton all about his first trip to the zoo when he is older. He may not remember it, but he'll always have the picture that tells it all! Definitely baby book worthy if I do say so myself. From now on I think we'll stick to taking pictures with animals that are behind glass! :-)
