Sleeping through the night!

Big news! Braxton has decided to sleep through the night! We began our 10 day trip back to Western Kansas on Friday, June 27th. Since Braxton's been here he's decided that he likes to sleep, a lot! He's averaging 10-12 hours straight through the night! Yay! Mom is really enjoying not having to get up to feed Braxton, but she still has that habit of waking up at 4 am and realizing that there is no baby crying to be fed. So mom gets to roll back over and go to sleep. Braxton has also decided to be a wiggle worm in his pack-n-play. Somehow throughout the night he gets himself width wise and is snug as a bug. Funny thing though, is that we don't hear him getting himself all positioned. Here is a picture of how I found him the first morning he slept through the night. I have to document all of the firsts!

Story Time!

Braxton and dad are enjoying story time as dad reads one of his new books titled Me and My Daddy! Braxton was soaking it in as dad read to him. However, we have a jealous dog that as soon as dad started reading to Braxton, wanted to get in on the action too. So Nikki jumped up by Braxton and Dave and listened as dad read to "both" of them. She stayed there the whole time as Dave read. It was just too cute! I had to snap a few pictures!

Center Time!

Okay, so I'm not in school yet, but mom has made my day seem like I am! :-) Mom keeps me on the go, never leaving me in one place for too long. I tend to have a short attention span, and like to move from one activity to the next. My day consist of many different activities. One of my favorite activities is hanging out on my playmat. I just love to look at the star above my head that has lights and plays all kinds of music! I think I'm already taking after my dad's love for music and lights! Thanks Dad!! Another favorite activity of mine is hanging out in my bouncer. I love to just have "my" time where I can just sit and take everything in. Of course, I have the best of both worlds because not only does my chair vibrate, it also plays all kinds of music too. How fun to just sit and relax! I also like to be on my blanket on the ground. It's fun to move all over the blanket and to have mom have all of my toys out! I'm still not too sure about all of these toys, but know that they often times make noise, which I like. Sometimes I even fall asleep on my blanket. Mom also reads to me daily. I like these books because they have bright colorful pictures and there are all kinds of textures throughout the books. I'm learning that everything doesn't feel the same. I also like to take a short morning nap and a longer afternoon nap. This gives mom time to clean-up my things, only to pull them back out when I wake up. I keep trying to convince mom to just leave everything out, but she just loves to clean. This is just a glimpse into my world! Thanks mom for introducing so many new things to me each day.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day dad! Braxton and I celebrated this special day with dad on Sunday. Braxton and I were excited to give dad a digital picture frame for his office and two night time books, The 10 Best Things About My Dad and Me and My Daddy!, that he could read to him at bedtime! Now anytime dad gets lonely at work or starts to miss Braxton or I, all he has to do is look at his digital picture frame! We also ventured out for dinner at one of our favorite places, Kites! Nothing beats the burgers and fries there. Greasy, but yet so good! To end with, the following is from Dave's Father's Day card, "Guess what, Daddy? God must love me a lot because He gave me you - the very best daddy in the whole world!" So fitting for such a special dad and day!!

2-month appointment

Today was shot day. I've been dreading this day for two months now. However, today was the day. Mommy and daddy both were able to go with our little man on this "big" day for him. His check-up went well. Braxton is now 13 lbs and 24 1/4 inches long. He's almost doubled in weight since he was first born. To end the appointment, Braxton got three shots. The nurses were pros at this. The two ladies worked in sync and in a matter of seconds, all three shots were administered and little man was in my arms. The gut wrenching cry was as bad as everyone said it would be, but once Braxton was in my arms his cries softened and he was soon comforted in my loving arms. I'm so proud of our little man for being such a trooper. Braxton has slept most of the day and was up for a little playtime before falling back asleep. I'm not worried and have thrown our "schedule" out for the day. After all, today was a "big" day for him, and I'm going to just love and love on him.
